Kodak Wins Third Straight German Award
Author: adminEastman Kodak delivered a press release last week noting that the company had won the Innovation Award from Germany’s printing industry for a third straight year with their NEXPRESS SX Digital Production Color Platform (with the long sheet option). Last year, Kodak won the Innovation Award in a pair of categories… the Prepress category for their TRILLIAN SP Thermal Plate, and the Printing category with their PROSPER 5000XL Press. In 2009, Kodak’s NEXPRESS Dimensional Printing System took the top prize. With over 30 different technologies nominated this year, Kodak landed the award based on 3 separate online polls, the Deutscher Drucker and Grafische Palette trade journals’ online polls, plus a poll done by German industry benchmark, print.de. Kodak’s innovations in the field of color printing are becoming almost commonplace.
According to the press release, Kodak noted that the NEXPRESS SX Platform offers unparalleled print quality, phenomenal substrate flexibility and a large number of in-line coating and printing effects. The NEXPRESS SX Platform helps print service providers across the world to provide a separation between their offering and drive revenue by giving them the ability to create unique, value-adding products.
Mark Clark, Regional General Manager & Vice President of Digital Printing Solutions for Kodak.”We’re much honored to walk away with such a highly respected award for the third consecutive year. The accolade is particularly satisfying as it was print professionals working on the frontline that voted for us. It underlines Kodak’s track record of developing solutions
that help print services providers overcome the challenges they face in the graphic communications industry.”
Color printing technology has been on a sharp rise in technological innovation over the past 10 years, with Eastman Kodak leading the way. Businesses who have considered using a straight-online marketing posture are now having to rethink their position as the print world keeps making materials more engaging and affordable.
